Chicago Cityscape recently added Chicago Public Schools locations to the “amenities & social infrastructure” map when you look up an address or parcel. These schools are all within 1 mile walk.
To find all Chicago Public Schools attendance boundaries in an area, like a ward, look up that ward to get its Place Snapshot. Then, scroll down until you see “Surrounding Places”. There is a filter for “School attendance boundaries” – click this to change the map and show just the attendance boundaries that overlap with that ward.

Pull structure square footage from the County Assessor's site for each property
would be very helpful to calculating rough development costs/sf for different types of projects
1 voteWhen the user looks up a PIN on Address Snapshot, we can now estimate the square footage of that parcel.

The map should include places on the Chicago historic resources survey, landmark districts, and places on the National Register of Historic Places.

Send email notifications about an Address Snapshot
Users could elect to receive an instant or daily digest email about an Address Snapshot.
It might work by clicking a "Subscribe" button on any Address Snapshot to be notified of new permits and new building violations at that address, checked on a daily basis.
2 votesChicago Cityscape allows everyone to subscribe to 1 Address Snapshot. Paying members can subscribe to additional Address Snapshots.
-
Display neighborhood demographics
Cityscape should integrate demographics information (race, ethnicity, income, education level, household size) for the neighborhood or community area (or some other boundary) containing the Address Snapshot. This could also be integrated into Places.
What demographics information do you want? You can see everything possible on Census Reporter:
http://censusreporter.org/profiles/14000US17031839100-census-tract-8391-cook-il/7 votesYou can now see population change in a chart below the map of an Address Snapshot. There are links to find other demographics for the Census tract and surrounding Census tracts. We can expand the feature when we receive more feedback form users.

Show where new business licenses were issued
The City of Chicago publishes a daily list of new business licenses, including the name of the business, and where it will operate. This information can be included in Chicago Cityscape, primarily in "Places".
8 votesWe’ve completed this with two new features:
-Business Licenses profile page: http://www.chicagocityscape.com/licenses.php?account=394968&license=2368810
-First-time business licenses (attempting to show where brand new businesses are opening): http://www.chicagocityscape.com/maps.php?method=newlicenses -
Indicate if an Address Snapshot is an affordable housing building
The City of Chicago maintains a list of all buildings and developments that are known as "affordable housing" units. If a requested address is part of one of these buildings or developments it should be listed as such on Address Snapshot.
5 votesThere are two ways to use Chicago Cityscape to identify affordable housing: Place Snapshot and Address Snapshot.
In Place Snapshot (like a ward or ZIP code) and Address Snapshot, click on the “Load affordable housing” button to show a map and table of all affordable housing buildings that are subsidized by the city or built to comply with the ARO.
Additionally, Chicago Cityscape now indicates, in multiple ways, if a property is owned by the City of Chicago (however, the City of Chicago doesn’t own affordable housing directly, so all of the properties indicated are vacant).

Include school boundary in Address Snapshot
When you get an Address Snapshot, Chicago Cityscape could tell you the neighborhood schools, and any nearby contract, charter, magnet, and selective enrollment school.
6 votesWe’ve completed this idea. When you get an Address Snapshot we tell you the nearest schools (public, contract, charter, etc.) as well as any schools that have an attendance boundary containing the address. We’ve expanded this idea to also give school data on the school’s Places page.

Map the location of city-owned land
The City of Chicago owns thousands of vacant parcels and abandoned buildings. These are generally for sale, sometimes to neighbors through the $1 Large Lots program, and through redevelopment agreements. This map would show these properties' locations and give you more details, like an Address Snapshot.
